The Desire 816G 2015 is an upgraded version of the 816G from 2014 by HTC. It’s weight is just above 150 gms and the phone is sizeable despite the large screen estate of the 5.5” HD (1280*720) Super LCD2 Display which is nice to look at and is sharp at 267ppi and very bright.
Internal Specifications and Operating System
The phone runs an Octa-core 1.7 GHz Mediatek processor and 1GB RAM which is a 300Mhz boots from last year’s model. The sensors included are an accelerometer, proximity sensor and compass. The storage capacity of the phone is 8GB which is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. The phone is powered by a 2600mAh battery and has promising battery life that will easily last you the day.
The phone runs on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat and is skinned with HTC’s custom Sense UI. An upgrade has been planned for Lollipop which should arrive via OTA in Q2 2015.
Camera
The Desire 816G 2015 has a 13MP autofocus camera with LED flash capable of FullHD video recording and a front facing 5MP camera for your selfies. The rear camera features various modes like face/smile detection and HDR. One standout feature is simultaneous HD video and image recording.
Connectivity
The Desire 816G 2015 has support for quad-band GSM and dual band 3G. It supports CDMA, HSDPA. It has Wifi, Bluetooth v4.0. which are the standard connectivity modules found in most phones.
Final Words
The Desire 816G 2015 has amazing qualities of a phablet and offers a large phone at a mid range price, the build quality is excellent and the phone has stereo BoomSound speakers with built in amplifiers and they provide a stellar audio experience. The price of the new 816G is 1000 Rs. Higher than last years model but considering the upgrades that have come we say it is worth the extra moolah.
